The Masked Singer is back and the second round of disguised stars have sang their hearts out – but who is Eiffel Tower?
Rumours are whirring about who each celebrity behind the mask is, with guesses ranging from the likes of Alison Moyet to Sarah Jessica Parker.
Tonight’s show saw Eiffel Tower, Piranha, Owl, Bubble Tea and Air Fryer take to the stage, with yet another singer unveiled.
Fans and the panel – made up of Jennifer Saunders, Jonathan Ross, Mo Gilligan, and Davina McCall – were left scratching their heads at the French landmark.
Who could it be? Well, they belted out Angels by Robbie Williams. Who knows. The outfits aren’t always the most straight forward clues, let us tell you…
Let us take a look at all the clues and theories about Eiffel Tower’s identity.
What clues are there for Eiffel Tower’s identity?
- Lots of references to France and a very thick – perhaps suspiciously so – French accent
- Bushtucker basket suggests they’ve appeared on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here
- They seem to love London
- Newspaper headline was TJ & The S, Inducted Into The Hall of Fame
- Visits Abbey Road, Trafalger Square, Big Ben, The Old Vic, Primrose Hill, and Shakespeare’s Globe
- Reference to a diary being ‘full to the brim’
- Text message from ‘Mr. BIG’ saying ‘Just landed in the City’ – nodding to Sex and the City
- Clue: ‘Ooh la la, ohh la la, mon chant était très bon. It may not have been Monty, but it was defo Python.’ (Translation: My singing was very good… and something to do with Monty Python?)
- Before exiting, Eiffel Tower said: ‘Some spicy guesses there, the panel could be Geri close to working out who I am.’
- They mentioned fashion a lot and their love of London fashion – could they be a designer? Or is it another nod to Sex and the City?
- They said: ‘If it wasn’t for shopping I wouldn’t be in the limelight.’
- A link to Moulin Rouge, perhaps a musical theatre performer.
- Has had money problems and debt in the past.
- ‘Wasn’t myself on Freaky Friday.’
- Perhaps a 90s icon who knocked someone off a charts number one spot.
- ‘I’m a rather popular monument too at my height.’
- ‘Umbrella Academy’ reference.
- Someone who is always travelling, always on the move.
- Celebrity Fit Club – did they take part in this reality show?
Who could Eiffel Tower on The Masked Singer be?
Geri Halliwell-Horner
We know Eiffel Tower can sing. We know Geri Halliwell-Horner can sing too.
But that’s not entirely the reason judge Jonathan previously linked her to the Parisian landmark outfit.
With all the references to Sex and the City, superfan Jonathan recognised that Geri actually appeared as a cameo in the beloved series as Kim Cattrall’s pal Phoebe.
What’s more, Geri and her Red Bull racing F1 boss husband Christian Horner actually honeymooned in the French town of Cannes.
And, with all the London clues, surely this could be nodding to Geri’s iconic Spice Girls outfit, in which she wore the Union Jack dress.
Time will tell…
Kim Cattrall
‘Can I just say your voice is incredible that was a really amazing performance Eiffel Tower,’ began Rita previously, before dropping a serious name in the mix.
Enter Kim Cattrall, who Rita reckons is Eiffel Tower for a number of very interesting reasons.
Rita reckons the Abbey Road image in the video is making us think of The Beatles. And where are they from? Liverpool.
After all the Sex and the City references, Rita could only deduce Eiffel Tower is in fact Kim – who is also, by the way, from Liverpool.
As for the Paris link – rumours have circulated for some time that Kim could be appearing in an Emily in Paris cameo as the writer of Sex and the City Darren Star also wrote the hit Netflix show.
Maybe, maybe…
Sarah Jessica Parker
So clearly Sex and the City is a theme here, and heavy references got all the judges’ eyes popping.
The mention of a diary in the video made Davina think of Sex and the City’s Carrie Bradshaw and her newspaper column.
The last scene SJP had with Mr Big was also in Paris, so the whole Eiffel Tower thing really makes sense.
She also has a fantastic voice, having trained in singing and ballet as a young girl.
As for all of the London references, the actor has been known to love the Big Smoke…
Sheridan Smith
Mo Gilligan previously went with a curveball answer for Eiffel Tower and guessed West End star Sheridan Smith was behind the mask.
Having performed in a number of musicals including Little Shop of Horrors, Legally Blonde, Funny Girl, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat the comedian can sing, that’s for sure.
But fans weren’t so convinced, as X user @playwithfire_90 took to socials and said: ‘Watching the masked singer. The panel suggested Eiffel Tower might be Sheridan smith. A couple of series ago my mum was determined someone was her. She was wrong.’
Alison Moyet
Jonathan Ross thinks the Eiffel Tower could be musician Alison Moyet.
As the TV personality brought up the Yazoo singer, the audience collectively gasped in agreement.
However, is that the person behind the mask over other guesses Paris Hilton, Kim Cattrall (again) and Sarah Jessica Parker?
We will have to wait and see…
Lindsay Lohan
Davina had a big theory that Eiffel Tower is Lindsay Lohan, thanks to her distinctive ‘husky’ voice.
That, and the huge Freaky Friday clue.
A hint to the ‘debt’ clue could link to Lindsay being amongst celebrities fined over social media crypto promotion last year.
